Compensation & Financial Incentives
- Base Pay: $42.46/hour
- Up to $1,500.00 annually safety bonus
- Per Diem: Up to $10,000.00 annually ($55/night for up to 200 nights/year)
- 100% of hotel and travel expenses covered by Airgas
As an Ammonia Field Service Technician, you will travel throughout the U.S. to support our field service team and plant operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Carefully manage the recovery of ammonia liquid and vapor from multiple sources, including refrigeration systems, storage tanks, and pipelines, ensuring environmental and team safety.
- Steward the installation, care, and maintenance of ammonia tanks, piping, and pumps to ensure long-term reliability and excellence.
- Provide support and share technical insights with the Airgas Specialty Products sales team and plant operations.
- Maintain proper parts inventory in service vans and the warehouse. Thoughtfully record activities via work orders and service agreements to ensure transparency.
- Keep trucks, trailers, and vans in excellent, secure condition to ensure the well-being of everyone on the road.
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required before hire date.
- At least 2 years of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) experience within the last 4 years. (Graduation from an accredited truck driving school with a diploma counts as 1 year of experience).
- No preventable accidents, more than 2 minor traffic tickets, and no serious violation tickets (e.g., speeding 15+ mph over, reckless driving) in the previous 3 years.
- No CDL suspensions in the previous 3 years (except for "Failure to pay child support").
- No DUI within the last 7 years.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. or more.
- High School Diploma, Technical Diploma, or equivalent preferred.
- Prior bulk tanker driving experience.
- strong mechanical aptitude.
- Previous experience working with ammonia systems.
