Role Summary:
Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Machinist Millwright (Manual) for a direct hire opportunity in Elgin, IL. This role supports in-house industrial equipment manufacturing and maintenance, focusing on building, repairing, and maintaining machinery used in production.
Ideal candidates will have strong manual machining and millwright experience, with the ability to fabricate parts, read prints, and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
️ Qualifications & Skills:
- 5–7 years of experience in machining, millwright, or industrial maintenance
- strong knowledge of manual machining and fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience with mechanical systems, conveyors, motors, and industrial equipment
- Proficient with measuring instruments and shop tools
- strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- strong communication and organizational skills
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and moving mechanical parts
- Requires standing, lifting, and hands-on mechanical work
- Must follow PPE and safety protocols at all times
- $35–$40/hr based on experience

Responsibilities
- Build, modify, and maintain industrial equipment and machinery lines
- Fabricate and repair parts using manual machining equipment and tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools
- Perform preventative maintenance on motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, and production equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Dismantle and rebuild machinery using hand tools, cranes, and hoists
- Adjust and align mechanical components for optimal performance
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies
- Document work completed and support reporting processes
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
