Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage, hire, lead, train, and develop warehouse and material handling personnel in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
- Motivate staff, provide feedback, resolve issues, and recognize performance
- Ensure personnel comply with departmental policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Direct and control shipping, receiving, and material handling activities
- Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, issuing, and distribution of materials
- Review inbound and outbound documentation (e.g., bills of lading, shipping documents) to plan and prioritize work activities
- Plan and coordinate the movement and transfer of materials within the warehouse and between buildings
- Ensure on-time delivery and proper packaging methods for all shipments
- Establish and maintain procedures for:
- Verification of incoming/outgoing shipments
- Inventory accuracy and control
- Proper handling and disposition of materials
- Maintain cycle count processes and inventory accuracy
- Arrange for disposition or disposal of surplus or obsolete materials
- Direct reclamation of damaged or defective materials
