We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer with plastic injection experience to join our team in Austin. You will optimize equipment performance, reduce cycle times, and control material usage in advanced manufacturing cells. This is a high-impact, problem-solving role balancing technical data with floor-level execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Resolve complex process, mold, and material defects beyond the scope of floor technicians.
- Process Optimization: Audit and refine injection molding parameters to maximize efficiency and ensure premium part quality.
- Engineering Methodologies: Apply structured problem-solving tools like Design of Experiments (DOE) and capability studies to eliminate production variances.
- Mentorship & Training: Provide technical leadership and training to production teams regarding advanced robotics, automated assembly, and molding processes.
- Documentation: Read tooling prints to create and update rigorous standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Plant Support: Support off-shift operations when critical processing challenges arise to keep the facility running smoothly.
- Safety: Ensure strict compliance with OSHA guidelines and appropriate manufacturing floor safety attire.
- Experience: Proven track record as a Process Engineer (if you have experience as a Process Engineer inside plastics manufacturing, we wnat to hear from you!)
- Analytical Muscle: Mastery of structured problem-solving (DOE, root-cause analysis) and capability studies.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to confidently read and interpret tooling prints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Leadership: Great communication skills with a natural ability to train and mentor floor technicians.
- Physical: Ability to stand/walk the floor for extended periods, lift up to 45 lbs, and work safely around high-heat automated machinery.
- Work with state-of-the-art injection machinery and integrated robotics.
- Highly visible, hands-on role with real impact on production performance.
salary: $105,000 - $123,000 per year
