Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
What You Will Do:
- Lead & Train: Recruit, schedule, and supervise the sanitation team (typically 3rd shift), fostering an OSHA-compliant culture focused on safety, proper PPE, and safe chemical handling.
- Execute Sanitation Schedules: Direct the daily, weekly, and monthly Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) across all production lines and facility areas to ensure total audit readiness.
- Maintain Compliance: Own and update Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) to meet FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and third-party audit (SQF/BRC) requirements.
- Verify Cleanliness: Partner with QA for pre-operational inspections, utilizing visual checks, ATP swabbing, and environmental monitoring to prevent cross-contamination and manage allergens.
- Manage Chemical Vendor Relations: Oversee chemical inventory, titration, and costs, while collaborating with Maintenance to optimize cleaning windows and minimize production downtime.
- Experience: 5+ years in food manufacturing sanitation, with 3+ years in a supervisory/management role.
- Certifications: PCQI and HACCP certifications are required.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of food safety regulations, chemical applications, sanitary equipment design, and pest control.
- Leadership: strong communication skills with the flexibility to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends) and lead a diverse workforce. bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
