Key Responsibilities
- Automation & Programming: Set up, program, and debug PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives using industrial software (e.g., Direct Soft, C-More, Motion Works).
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex electrical failures, advanced controls, and components (transducers, I/O cards, sensors) up to 480VAC.
- Mechanical & Fluid Power: Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on conveyor systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Schematics & Design: Read, interpret, and generate new electrical schematics and fluid diagrams using AutoCAD.
- Upgrades & Optimization: Lead complex shop re-builds, machine modifications, and equipment upgrades to improve efficiency.
- Leadership & Planning: Handle project planning, specify material lists, and mentor/train less experienced technicians.
- Experience: 7+ years in industrial manufacturing with a focus on electrical troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
- PLC Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on PLC programming, debugging, and ladder logic experience.
- Technical Mastery: Proficient with diagnostic tools (Multi-meters, Megohmmeters, Oscilloscopes) and a deep understanding of electro-mechanical components.
- Software & Standards: Knowledge of industrial communication standards (Ethernet IP, RS-232), AutoCAD, NEC, and UL508A standards.
- Safety: Strict adherence to safe work practices (Lockout/Tagout). Ability to obtain a forklift certification.
- Soft Skills: Mechanical/electrical aptitude, great communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, troubleshooting and modification of control systems used in automated machinery.
- Performs maintenance service and repairs on production equipment including preventative maintenance.
- Set up and programming of PLC’s, variable frequency and servo drives.
- Set up and programming of operator interface devices.
- Assembly and wiring of electrical control panels and machinery.
- Generation of electrical schematics and support documentation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical failures on existing manufacturing equipment.
- Advanced industrial electrical troubleshooting tasks such as diagnosing faulty electrical components and devices.
- Advanced electrical controls troubleshooting and calibration of PLCs, transducers, motor starters, relays, solenoids, I/O cards, thermocouples, sensors, power supplies, transformers and other control devices.
- Performs advanced conveyor troubleshooting/diagnostics and repairs.
- Advanced hydraulic/pneumatic repairs and troubleshooting.
- Complex shop re-builds and equipment upgrades. Identifies opportunities for machinery improvements and optimization.
- Completes assigned tasks on time according to schedule.
- Trains/mentors new hires and less experienced technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
