We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other conventional machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify precision components. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, maintain tight tolerances, and produce high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other conventional machine tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Set up machines, tooling, fixtures, and materials for production.
- Machine precision parts while maintaining required tolerances and quality standards.
- Measure and inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Repair, modify, and fabricate machine parts and equipment components.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot machining issues.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet production goals.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 2+ years of manual machining experience preferred.
- Proficiency operating manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
