We are looking for an Automation Technician II to own the reliability, safety, and peak performance of our automated distribution systems. In this role, you won't just turn wrenches—you will be a key player in optimizing our tech, collaborating with engineers on custom projects, and mentoring the next generation of technicians.
What You’ll Do:
- Troubleshoot & Optimize: Perform intermediate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on high-speed automated equipment.
- Lead by Example: Train machine operators and provide technical guidance and mentorship to Tech I team members.
- Collaborate & Innovate: Partner with automation engineers on in-house projects and work alongside external vendors to minimize system downtime.
- Safety First: Set up tools and machinery prior to production runs to ensure a safe, high-performance environment.
- Tech Support: Assist with Level 1 helpdesk requests and keep technical manuals and programs up to date.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in an automated distribution or manufacturing facility.
- Technical Toolkit: Intermediate skills in Mechanical (hydraulics/pneumatics), Electrical, and Computer systems, with a basic understanding of industrial machine operating principles.
- Software Savvy: Experience working with a CMMS, alongside basic proficiency in MS Office.
- The Essentials: Excellent communication skills, a safety-oriented mindset, and a positive, team-first attitude.
- Physical Agility: Ability to stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and comfortably navigate stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.

Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform intermediate troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on automated mailing machinery.
- Pre-Production Setup: Prepare and configure tools and equipment prior to production runs to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.
- Collaboration & Downtime Reduction: Work alongside vendors, internal teams, and automation engineers on in-house projects to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, and minimize downtime.
- Training & Mentorship: Train operations employees on the proper use and basic maintenance of automation machines. Provide ongoing guidance and technical training to Automation Tech I staff.
- Technical Support & Documentation: Assist in updating technical manuals and programs for automated equipment, and provide Level 1 support for the Automation Helpdesk.
- Reporting: Generate and submit maintenance reports and actively participate in weekly technical calls.
