About the Role Are you a highly skilled technician who thrives on solving complex mechanical puzzles? We are seeking a direct-hire Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at a premier, fast-paced automotive tier-one manufacturing facility in Smyrna. In this role, you will be the backbone of our operation, keeping massive metal stamping presses, high-speed automated welding cells, and advanced robotics running safely and efficiently. What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Rapidly diagnose and fix complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic breakdowns on high-volume production equipment.
- Automation & Robotics: Work directly with automated welding robots, advanced sensors, VFDs, and motor controls. Troubleshoot and edit PLC logic to optimize machinery.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Conduct routine inspections, identify early signs of equipment wear, and perform precision adjustments to eliminate unplanned downtime.
- Read Blueprints & Schematics: Interpret complex electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to trace issues to their root cause.
- Facility Support: Assist in maintaining facility infrastructure, including industrial air compressors, cooling towers, and overhead cranes.
- Prioritize Safety: Keep standard operating procedures at the forefront of every repair by utilizing strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and 5S cleanliness practices.
- Experience: 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (automotive supply, heavy metal stamping, or automated manufacturing environments preferred).
- Technical Education: High School Diploma/GED required; a degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related trade is a strong plus.
- Multi-Craft Skillset: Proven knowledge of industrial electricity (up to 480V 3-phase), fluid power, and mechanical drive systems.
- Safety Focus: Deep familiarity with industrial safety regulations, PPE, and heavy equipment operation (forklifts, scissor lifts, hoist rigging).
- Flexibility: Ability to support off-shifts and weekend production runs as needed.

Responsibilities
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Equipment Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, analyze, and repair complex failures in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Systems Covered: Maintain and service stamping equipment/presses, automated welding robots, scrap conveyors, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Electrical & PLC Work: Troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from low voltage (24VDC) up to 480V/600VAC (single and 3-phase power, motor controls, VFDs, and safety circuits). Edit, create, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform routine inspections, instrument readings, function checks, and leak detections to identify early signs of wear and prevent unplanned downtime.
- Utility & Facility Support: Assist with the upkeep of plant utility systems, including cooling water systems, compressed air/pneumatics, natural gas supply, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
- Documentation & 5S: Analyze wiring diagrams, blueprints, and circuit schematics. Maintain detailed maintenance records and keep work areas compliant with 5S organization and cleanliness standards.
