- Track hourly piece yields from plastic sheet stock and analyze output variances (machine downtime, material flaws).
- Program, set up, and operate CNC routers using Mastercam.
- Coordinate major machinery repairs.
- Interpret customer drawings/blueprints and model parts using CAD for 2D & 3D solid modeling and prototype development.
- Expertise: At least 3 years of experience programming/operating 3 & 5 axis machines.
- Software Mastery: Mastercam experience.
- Technical Skill: Ability to draw in CAD and use precision tools (micrometers/calipers).
- Leadership: Prior experience in a supervisory role.
- Education: Completed technical school training or equivalent professional experience.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production Leadership & Floor Supervision
- Directly supervise and mentor 11 union shop-floor employees operating 3- and 5-axis CNC machines and vacuum-forming equipment.
- Track daily yield and production rates (calculating piece counts and run times off plastic sheet inventory)
- Analyze variances in expected vs. actual output, identifying root causes (machine downtime, material flaws, setup delays) and reporting metrics to ownership during daily status meetings.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented shop environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and output.
- Program, set up, and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routers using Mastercam.
- Interpret customer drawings/blueprints and model parts using CAD for 2D & 3D solid modeling and prototype development.
- Determine optimal job setups, tool selection, and cutting strategies for a wide variety of plastic materials, sizes, and colors.
- Perform basic, hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs on CNC routers and vacuum-forming machines to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with the Plant Manager for major equipment repairs or maintenance requests.
