Qualifications:
- 3+ Years of Manual Experience: Proven background operating manual mills and lathes in a custom job shop or fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Solid Shop Math: Practical knowledge of geometry and trigonometry to calculate angles, tapers, and tight dimensions effortlessly.
- Tooling Expertise: Deep knowledge of tool geometry, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing for long shifts, handling manual tasks, and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a vocational machining program or formal apprenticeship is a major plus.

Responsibilities
- Mastering Manual Equipment: Set up and run manual lathes, vertical/horizontal mills, drill presses, grinders, and band saws to produce precise, custom parts.
- Blueprint Translation: Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specs to map out your own machining sequences and tolerances.
- Precision Quality Checks: Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and verniers to verify every dimension and guarantee flawless accuracy.
- Tool & Material Selection: Choose the right cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures for various materials, including steel, aluminum, and plastics.
- Shop Upkeep & Safety: Keep your equipment in top shape with routine maintenance while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.
- Hands-On Problem Solving: Diagnose machining hiccups on the fly and make real-time adjustments to achieve optimal performance.
