What You’ll Be Doing (The Cool Stuff)
- Master 5 & 6-Axis Beasts: Set up, operate, and maintain high-speed CNC milling and turning centers.
- Bring Blueprints to Life: Decode complex blueprints and GD&T specs to create flight-ready, mission-critical parts.
- Innovate & Experiment: Tame unproven setup sheets and perform complex, varied machining for prototype and experimental projects.
- Dial It In: Adjust feeds, speeds, offsets, and tooling like a seasoned pro to hit pinpoint accuracy every single time.
- Collaborate with Top Minds: Work alongside lead engineers, programmers, and quality inspectors to solve tricky machining challenges.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on CNC experience pushing multi-axis machines (5–6 axis experience required).
- Precision Toolkit: Mastery with calipers, micrometers, and precision inspection tools.
- Blueprint Fluency: Ability to read G-code, tool paths, and aerospace-level engineering drawings.
- Problem Solver Mindset: Math whiz capabilities with fractions, geometry, and basic shop calculations.

Responsibilities
- CNC Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers, including 5–6 axis machines. Load programs, tools, offsets, and fixtures. Handle setups for both low-complexity unproven parts and complex proven parts.
- Blueprint Reading & Calculations: Read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints, drawings, and customer specifications. Use G-code, tool paths, and basic math/geometry to calculate dimensions.
- Tooling & Work Holding: Select, install, align, and adjust cutting tools and work holdings for various materials. Perform routine tooling changes.
- Quality & Precision Control: Monitor feeds/speeds and adjust machine parameters to hold strict tolerances. Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools to detect defects.
- Collaboration & Optimization: Work with programmers, inspectors, and engineers to resolve machining issues. Participate in continuous improvement to boost efficiency and help develop tooling/methods for complex parts.
- Prototypes & Documentation: Perform complex machining for prototype experimental activities. Retrieve job information and log production quantities in the ERP system.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning. Keep work areas safe and free of debris while following all safety protocols. Complete other duties as assigned.
