Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 / hr (based on experience)
Reports To: Quality Manager / Quality Engineer
Position Summary We are hiring a hands-on Quality Floor Inspector to perform first-piece, in-process, and incoming mechanical inspections on our manufacturing floor. If you are strong with precision measuring tools, blueprint reading, and shop floor communication, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Floor Inspection: Perform and log first-piece, in-process, and final mechanical inspections on active production runs.
- Incoming Inspection: Verify raw materials and supplier parts against POs and engineering drawings.
- Process Verification: Review job travelers, audit operator logs, and ensure shop adherence to control plans.
- Quality Compliance: Follow ISO / AS9100 quality standards and safety protocols.
- Communication: Partner directly with machinists and managers to resolve non-conformances quickly.
- Blueprint Reading: strong capability with shop drawings, customer blueprints, and inspection documentation.
- Precision Tools: Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and depth micrometers.
- Basic Tech & Math: Solid shop math skills and comfortable with basic quality/computer software.
- Soft Skills: Sharp attention to detail and clear verbal/written communication.
- CMM experience (operating or programming).
