Key Responsibilities
- Program Execution: Lead plant sanitation according to the Master Sanitation Schedule, oversee CIP/COP systems, and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA).
- Team Leadership: Schedule, train, and manage sanitation staff; oversee daily tasks and continuous performance development.
- Chemical Safety & Storage: Maintain chemical safety standards, oversee SDS documentation, organize chemical storage, and partner with chemical vendors for specialized training.
- Quality & Validation: Execute cleaning verification programs, analyze trend data, and assist with annual audits and corrective actions.
- Department Management: Manage the department budget and optimize cleaning efficiency and turnaround times.
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP, Microbiology, Chemical Safety, Pest Control, and Quality Systems.
- Certified Sanitarian or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Spending ~80% of working time on the production floor around heavy machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, push, and pull equipment for machine inspections.

Responsibilities

- Team Leadership & Training: Manage, schedule, and evaluate sanitation staff while providing safety, operational, and chemical handling training.
- Chemical & Safety Management: Maintain chemical safety procedures (MSDS/SDS), manage structured chemical storage, and serve as technical liaison with chemical suppliers.
- Verification & Continuous Improvement: Execute cleaning validations, analyze sanitation data/trends, and partner with leaders to improve cleaning standards and efficiency.
- Audits & Budgeting: Assist with annual audits, develop SOPs/corrective actions, and manage the department’s operating budget.
