About the Role
We are seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our fast-paced food production facility in South Nashville. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, executing critical preventive maintenance, and rapidly troubleshooting high-speed automated processing and packaging machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform emergency mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on high-speed food processing equipment, conveyors, and packaging lines.
- Troubleshoot automated control systems, PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor controls (24V–480V).
- Execute detailed preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to minimize unplanned downtime and comply with strict food safety standards.
- Strictly enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a secure and sanitary environment.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical manuals to perform component replacements and precision alignments.
- Experience: 3+ years of multi-craft industrial maintenance experience (food, beverage, or high-volume automated manufacturing preferred).
- Technical Skills: strong background in electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V), hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, gearboxes, and pumps.
- Safety & Compliance: Working knowledge of OSHA, LOTO protocols, and familiarity with GMP/SQF/HACCP food safety regulations.
- Tools & Equipment: Proficient with digital multimeters, precision measuring instruments, hand/power tools, and shop equipment.
- Certifications (Preferred): Forklift/Scissor Lift certification, OSHA 10/30, or a Journeyman/Vocational Maintenance certification is a plus.

Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform emergency mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on processing and packaging machinery (fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, pumps, and case packers).
- Execute routine preventive and predictive maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues ranging from 24VDC control circuits up to 480VAC 3-phase power, including PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and relays.
- Rebuild pumps, gearboxes, valves, and mechanical subassemblies as required.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash safety, Confined Space Entry, and OSHA standards.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), SQF (Safe Quality Food) guidelines, and HACCP rules to ensure product safety and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area (5S standards) and ensure all tools and spare parts are accounted for after maintenance activities.
