We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Technician for a client in Huntsville, AL who is in the Aerospace/Defense industry. To be considered for this position candidates MUST be AS9100 certified. In this role you will support quality planning and assurance efforts to determine customer inspection requirements, clarify where necessary, and use the quality system to meet those requirements. Assist in efforts to improve the Quality System, particularly using traditional Quality Assurance tools such as: statistical sampling, quality auditing, and quality systems standards and evaluation criteria to ensure that the customer product requirements and company requirements are met while meeting the requirements of the quality policy and quality objective of our client's quality management system, ISO 9001/AS 9100, and defined regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete QMS related documentation for production and inspection
• Utilize standard inspection equipment to inspect precision machined components and assemblies
• Measure and document inspection results
• Perfom inspection, and documentation of product for final inspection and customer source inspection
• Detecting, correcting, and preventing waste or loss of tooling, raw material and customer product
• Perform final marking, assembly, and packaging as required

Qualifications

• Education (either): High School Diploma or equivalent; Formal Training (in related function), Proven Job Work History. 
• Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to apply basic shop mathematics. Ability to convert metric units to standard units and vice versa.
• Physical Skills: Ability to use standard measuring and testing devices such as but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, height gage, pin gage, radius gage, optical comparator, depth micrometer, etc. 
• Trade Knowledge: Ability to read basic drawings and blueprints, specifications and understand and use basic geometrical tolerance.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• manual lifting up to 35lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
