Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials, machined parts, and vendor-supplied sub-assemblies using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators).
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final mechanical inspections on complex automated machinery and mechanical units.
- Read, interpret, and cross-reference CAD drawings, blueprints, schematics, and job routings to verify accurate tolerances and design specifications.
- Log inspection data, document deviations, and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the company MRP/ERP system.
- Collaborate closely with production supervisors, machinists, and assembly technicians to flag quality issues and approve rework.
- Maintain and monitor the calibration schedules and operating conditions of precision gauges and quality control tools.
- Ensure strict adherence to shop safety procedures, standards, and environmental health regulations.
