Key Responsibilities
- Operations Leadership: Direct night-shift production across machining, tooling, and finishing teams. Manage staffing, duty assignments, and processing schedules within budget and time limits.
- Quality & Safety: Partner with Quality to uphold precision standards. Enforce safety, health, and environmental policies, ensuring a safe work environment for all shop floor personnel.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize root-cause analysis to identify product/process variation. Drive measurable continuous improvement efforts to optimize efficiency and minimize scrap.
- People Management: Hire, train, mentor, evaluate, and develop supervisors and staff. Foster positive employee involvement and handle personnel resolutions in line with HR policies.
- Cost & Budget Control: Oversee expenditure for labor, materials, and equipment. Enforce accurate scanning and reporting mechanisms to ensure full cost accountability across operations.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, and HR to streamline technology transfers, maintain equipment, and meet customer expectations.
- Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing. Cellular manufacturing experience is a real plus.
- Education: Professional certification required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Six Sigma, or APICS certification preferred.
- Core Competencies: Proven leadership, business acumen (throughput, productivity, cost analysis), problem-solving, conflict resolution, and excellent communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Job Summary
Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing operations and resources to deliver high-quality products on time and within cost specifications. Oversee machinists, detail operators, deburr personnel, tooling technicians, and shift supervisors.
Essential Functions
- Operations Leadership: Direct daily shop operations, equipment repairs, maintenance priorities, and recycling processes. Provide hands-on shop support when needed.
- Team & Culture: Hire, train, evaluate, and mentor staff and supervisors. Resolve grievances, enforce company policies fairly, and drive employee involvement programs.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement: Partner with Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure products meet customer expectations. Set product standards, examine raw materials, and lead root-cause, CI-driven improvement efforts.
- Budget & Efficiency: Manage budgets, approve operational expenditures, and review schedules to optimize inventory, staffing, machine utilization, and cost accountability.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with Engineering to transfer new technologies into production, and work with HR and Maintenance to maintain safety standards and equipment readiness.
