We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Benicia, CA. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a vital role in upholding our food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards across the plant. This position requires a flexible work schedule and involves close collaboration with production leadership and line technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce HACCP plans, Food Safety Plans, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across the plant, leading safety standards by example.
  
  
• Critical Control Point Verification: Conduct metal detector checks, temperature monitoring, and all CCP/PCP critical limit checks.
  
  
• Testing & Inspection: Perform pre-operational and operational environmental swabbing, weight checks, and ongoing process control checks on the production line.
  
  
• Calibration & Equipment Audits: Perform daily calibration and monitoring checks for scales, balances, and thermometers.
  
  
• Quality Hold & Deviation Management: Identify product deviations, place impacted product on hold according to HACCP procedures, and immediately alert plant management.
  
  
• Lot Code Integrity: Inspect finished product packaging to verify lot codes are accurate and execute corrective actions when necessary.
  
  
• Reporting & Collaboration: Partner with Production Managers and Supervisors to resolve issues, and provide indirect guidance to QC Line Technicians.

Responsibilities

· Responsible for HACCP, GMP’s, and Safety / regulatory requirements.

· Conduct Metal detector checks following HACCP and/or Food Safety Plans as Control Point requirements.

· Conduct pre-operational and/or operational swabbing.

· Conduct all Critical Control Point/Preventive Control Point critical limit checks as per the HACCP and/or Food Safety Plans.

· Conduct temperature checks and documentation.

· Ensure all finished product packaging lot codes are correct and record findings making sure corrective actions are taken if lot codes are found to be incorrect.

· Conduct thermometer calibration as directed by Quality Assurance Supervisor.

· Place product on hold as per HACCP and/or Food Safety Plans when a deviation occurs and alert plant management accordingly.

· Ensure all employees are following GMP’s at all times. Lead by example.

· Conduct scale and balances daily checks.

· Report any food safety and quality issues to Quality Assurance supervisor and /or QA manager.

· Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.

· Conduct weight checks and properly document.

· Perform quality control checks at the production line (process control).

· Interact with supervisors to resolve problems.

· Must be able to communicate clearly.

· Must be able to read, write and speak English.

· Other duties as designated by the Production Manager in conjunction with the plant Quality Assurance Manager
