Forget routine aisle-picking. Your primary mission is the safe, tactical maneuvering of massive, high-performance vessels through active production zones, paint booths, quality control checks, sea trials, and transport staging. Every move requires sharp depth perception, calculated weight-distribution checks, and tight coordination with ground spotters. You are directly responsible for protecting pristine, hand-finished fiberglass and custom paint jobs, serving as the critical link that keeps assembly flowing seamlessly.
2. Dynamic, Cross-Departmental Impact
You aren't isolated to a driver's seat all day. As a key operational hub, you act as the connective tissue between Production, Quality Assurance, Facilities, and the Stockroom:
- Stockroom & Parts Runner: Keep the heart of the factory beating by delivering essential parts, high-value hardware, and specialized tools directly to boatbuilders and technicians on the floor.
- Freight & Inbound Logistics: Command the loading docks, unloading raw materials, heavy component shipments, and vendor deliveries with heavy-capacity equipment.
- Facilities Powerhouse: Support essential plant projects, relocate machinery, and keep staging yards pristine, safe, and organized.
Operating at the pinnacle of marine engineering requires safety standards that reflect that same level of perfection. You’ll champion strict OSHA compliance, perform daily machinery inspections, and maintain a zero-compromise safety culture. Equipped with top-tier PPE and working alongside a tight-knit team, you ensure every launch—from the shop floor to the water—is executed flawlessly.
