Responsibilities
- Receiving & Unloading: Unloading inbound shipments, inspecting incoming freight for damage, verifying shipment counts against packing slips, and signing bill of lading documents.
- Inventory & Stocking: Sorting, labeling, and placing items onto assigned shelves, racks, or bin locations (putaway); conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Order Picking & Packing: Reading pick sheets or using handheld RF scanners to locate and retrieve items; assembling, wrapping, and packing orders into appropriate boxes or containers.
- Shipping & Staging: Labeling outgoing packages, weighing shipments, preparing bills of lading or shipping manifests, and loading outgoing trucks.
- Equipment Operation: Operating material-handling equipment such as manual or electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, or reach trucks (certification usually required).
