A rapidly expanding engineered surface manufacturer in the Dallas area is seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Factory Operations Manager. Operating within an advanced 140,000 sq. ft. continuous production facility featuring automated Breton lines, digital color infusion, polishing, and CNC finishing, you will stabilize operations, enforce standard work, and scale output. Reporting to executive leadership, you own overall plant performance across safety, schedule attainment, yield, scrap, and operating costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Direct daily operations, shift handovers, and standard work execution across shift supervisors, line operators, and maintenance teams.
• Planning & Cost Control: Convert customer demand and material availability into executable production schedules, shift rosters, and labor plans while controlling operating budgets and overtime.
• Equipment Reliability: Partner with automation and maintenance specialists and Breton technicians to resolve downtime, run preventive maintenance, and secure critical spares.
• Quality & Yield Optimization: Enforce recipe control, traceability, and inspection gates to eliminate nonconforming product, handling damage, and slab breakage.
• Safety First: Maintain rigorous housekeeping, machine guarding, LOTO, and safe slab handling protocols across all shifts.
• Plant Expansion: Facilitate new-product trials and coordinate Line 2 installation alongside project managers while protecting current production run-rates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in manufacturing with 5+ years leading plant operations and shift teams.
• Preference for experience in engineered stone, quartz slab manufacturing, or continuous ceramic/glass processing.
• Hands-on familiarity with Breton production/finishing lines or similar automated machinery.
• Proven track record leading plant turnarounds, equipment stabilization, or capital scaling.
• Data-driven proficiency in ERP platforms, production reporting, and root-cause downtime analysis.
• Degree in Engineering or Operations preferred; equivalent plant leadership experience accepted

Responsibilities

• Factory Performance & Cost: Drive safety, quality, throughput, delivery, scrap reduction, and labor productivity while managing operating budgets and overtime.
• Scheduling & Shift Leadership: Translate demand and inventory into executable production plans and shift assignments; lead floor meetings and handovers.
• Team Development: Directly lead, hire, and upskill shift supervisors, line operators, material handlers, and technical teams to ensure reliable coverage.
• Equipment & Reliability: Partner with maintenance specialists and Breton OEM support to expedite equipment recovery, preventive maintenance, and critical spare planning.
• Process & Quality Control: Enforce recipe discipline, traceability, inspection hold points, and nonconformance procedures with Quality teams.
• Material Flow & Yield: Oversee WIP, slab handling, and inventory accuracy to boost first-pass yield and eliminate breakage, handling damage, and scrap.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce standard work, energy isolation (LOTO), machine guarding, and safe material handling across all operational lines.
• Expansion & Scaling: Support customer audits, trials, and Line 2 installation alongside project managers while safeguarding active production targets
