Responsibilities
Candidate will be working with CAD, CAM and software programs utilizing intermediate
to advanced knowledge while training towards full working knowledge
• Position will be responsible for machining mechanical parts, pieces or products to
customer drawings and specifications using a variety of tools and high-tech milling and
drilling equipment
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials,
specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and
machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
• Daily activities will include programming one off parts, small to medium run, in either
Surfcam or Mastercam.
• Setting up your HAAS milling and lathe machines
• Operate calipers, inspection gauges, micrometers, and other quality control
instrumentation
• Maintain CNC mill and other machines using preventative maintenance methods
Continually evaluate machine, cutting tool, and software technologies to improve
knowledge and cycle times
• Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and machine tools
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning,
facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting
malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls;
sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and
processes
• Create specific machine set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
