Join our healthcare team as a dedicated Respiratory Therapist, assisting in and performing a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic regimes. This role is essential in providing critical respiratory care, including ventilator management, airway care, and various cardiopulmonary procedures.Job Duties
Assists in and performs therapeutic and diagnostic regimes, including:
Medical gases and environmental control systems.
Application and monitoring of mechanical ventilator support.
Artificial airway insertion, care, and management.
Bronchopulmonary hygiene.
Pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures.
Protocol-driven care, manual resuscitation, and airway management.
Pulmonary rehabilitation.
Performs tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system, obtains physiological specimens, and interprets physiological data.
Provides safe and appropriate aerosolized medication.
Sets up, monitors, adjusts, and manages patient/ventilator systems.
Provides artificial airway care and management, including insertion of airways in emergency situations.
Maintains appropriate documentation (written and in MIS) for all diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Performs spirometric studies, including FVC, SVC, and MVV.
Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for department-specific services.
Administers medications in a timely manner, safely, and in accordance with policy and procedure.
Selected RTs may also perform:
Insertion and management of endotracheal tubes (upon completion of designated training and competency).
Insertion and maintenance of various vascular access devices (upon completion of designated training and competency).
Minimum Requirements
Education: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Licensure: Eligible to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Wisconsin.
Certification:
Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
Current NRP certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care or eligible to sit for the registry exam. Registry Credential must be completed within 12 months of hire date.
Other: Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Care and ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend the English language.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $26.25 to $39.50/hr (based on experience).
Shift Differential: Evening and Night shift differential available.
