We are looking for a reliable, punctual, and highly motivated Ophthalmic Technician who is eager to learn and committed to exceptional, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Testing & Diagnostics: Perform ocular testing, diagnostic imaging (OCT, visual fields, A-scan, topography, fundus photography), visual acuity, and intraocular pressure checks (Goldmann/Perkins).

Patient Workups: Gather complete ocular and systemic patient histories, administer topical ophthalmic medications as directed, and assist with patient education.

Physician Support: Act as a medical scribe during exams, documenting details accurately into the EMR system, and assist with minor in-office procedures.

Clinic Care: Maintain clean exam rooms, assist with inventory reporting, and actively participate in daily team huddles.

What We Are Looking For

Traits: Proactive "go-getter" attitude, reliable attendance, strong communication skills, and a genuine focus on quality patient care.

Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of experience as an uncertified ophthalmic assistant preferred. Nextech/ICP experience is a strong plus.

Certifications: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is a plus, but certification is not required.

Location: San Antonio, TX (Primary clinic location, with single-day coverage flexibility for 4 local sister clinics as needed)

Shift: M-F 7:30-4:30pm

Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 / hour (up to +$1.00-$2.00/hr based on experience)
