Join a collaborative IT team supporting critical infrastructure projects as a Senior Oracle Database Administrator. In this role, you'll manage and optimize enterprise-level databases that power operational technology systems across Distribution, Transmission, and Nuclear environments. You'll work across multiple database platforms - including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB - ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity.
You'll handle database builds, patching, tuning, and recovery while driving automation and scripting to improve efficiency. This is a hands-on technical role within a high-performing DBA team supporting key modernization initiatives.
What You'll Do:
Administer and support Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB databases.
Perform database builds, upgrades, patching, tuning, and recovery.
Develop and maintain scripts for automation and monitoring (KornShell, PowerShell).
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable database solutions.
Participate in on-call rotation (one week every four weeks).
Support critical OT projects and database modernization efforts.
What You Bring:
5-7 years of hands-on database administration experience.
Strong expertise in Oracle and SQL Server database management.
Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL/MariaDB preferred.
Proficiency in backup/recovery, performance tuning, and high availability configurations.
Scripting experience (KornShell, PowerShell, PL/SQL, T-SQL).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
Oracle or Microsoft certifications preferred.

- Participate in on-call rotation (one week every four weeks) for 24x7 support.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support major OT projects such as ADMS and SCADA upgrades.
- Implement automation and scripting (KornShell, PowerShell, etc.) to optimize database operations.
- Monitor proactive and reactive alerts through ServiceNow, resolving issues efficiently.
- Conduct capacity planning, documentation, and audits to maintain database integrity and compliance.
- Provide technical consultation on database architecture, data management, and integration best practices.
qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field - or equivalent combination of education and experience (8+ years).
5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise environments.
Proven expertise in Oracle and SQL Server administration, including backup/recovery, performance tuning, configuration, and patching.
Experience managing PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB databases.
Strong scripting skills in KornShell, PowerShell, or similar.
Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and effectively manage competing priorities.

Oracle Database 12c, 19c, 21c
SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022
Experience with:
Oracle ASM, RAC, and Data Guard technologies
SQL Server AlwaysOn Clustering, Replication, and SSIS packages
Database version upgrades and migration strategies
T-SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and PowerShell automation
Experience supporting SCADA, nuclear, or other operational technology environments.
Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
