This role is for an experienced architect specializing in ServiceNow's Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Discovery module, with a strong emphasis on ITIL and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). The architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing CMDB processes, data ingestion, and technical architecture.

responsibilities:
CMDB and ITIL Process Management:
- Implement and manage ITIL CMDB best practices, processes, standards, and policy.
- Ensure CMDB processes align with organizational objectives and the ITIL framework.
- Develop and support the Configuration Item (CI) lifecycle process.
- Perform CMDB remediation using ServiceNow tools (de-duplication, CMDB Health, IRE).
- Configure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery.
- Develop and maintain custom probes, patterns, pre & post-scripts for automated infrastructure discovery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve discovery-related errors (e.g., ECC Queue, script failures).
- Ensure Discovery outputs align with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and organizational CI taxonomy.
- Develop a Discovery audit process to identify gaps, stale data, or misclassified CIs.
- Provide hands-on expertise with Integration and data ingestion systems.
- Deliver architecture requirements, process designs, system integration definitions, and procedures.
- Develop high-level design requirements addressing business, infrastructure, security, and operational needs.
- Ensure discovery scripts adhere to security and compliance standards (e.g., no hardcoded credentials).
- Implement security requirements for ITSM processes.
qualifications:
Required Experience (Minimums):
4+ years of CMDB experience, including ITIL/ITSM and Discovery support.
4+ years of experience collaborating with stakeholders to capture ITSM requirements.
7+ years of overall relevant work experience (10 years total required based on basic qualifications).
In-depth experience managing organizational needs and documenting/mapping business processes.
Certifications/Knowledge:
- ITIL Foundations V3/V4 Certified.
- Strong knowledge of process design, development, and support.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years ServiceNow development experience.
- Extensive process integration knowledge and experience.
- ServiceNow On-Prem experience.
Basic Qualifications & Additional Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field OR Associate's degree + 2 years relevant experience OR High school diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience.
General Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience is required (cumulative with specific experience listed).
