We are looking for a Data Analyst position focusing on basic analysis, data management, and reporting to support business decisions.
The role involves data mining, validation, reconciliation, and utilizing analytical and statistical software (like SQL, R, Python, and Power BI) to generate actionable insights.
The analyst will also assist in developing analytical tools and components of predictive systems, collaborate with business and technology partners, and deliver clear, concise reports and dashboards.
Utility Distribution experience is preferred.

responsibilities:
- Conduct basic analysis on various data types (including data mining, auditing, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation) to uncover patterns and correlations for business and management decisions.
- Build basic reports and conduct basic hypothesis tests for management.
- Utilize analytics and statistical software (such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Power BI, Cognos) to perform analysis and interpret data.
- Assist in the development of basic analytical tools and components of predictive/prescriptive systems.
- Apply data visualization tools to large datasets to enhance understanding.
- Acquire knowledge of business processes and data acquisition practices across business units.
- Collaborate with technology partners to develop data acquisition and data management practices.
- Develop concise, meaningful written reports and provide oral presentations/reporting dashboards on status, trends, and variances.
- Collaborate with technology and business units to operationalize reports and dashboards.
qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, or a related technical field.
Experience: No additional experience is required; an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Preferred Skills: Distribution experience is preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Must be proficient or able to learn analytical and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Power BI, and Cognos.
