Job Summary - Data Warehouse Architect III
We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect III to support major enterprise initiatives within the Customer Portfolio, including the CIS Modernization and Customer 360 data transformation. In this role, you will design modern data architectures across cloud and on-premise systems, define data modeling and governance standards, and collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders. This is a highly impactful, long-term contract opportunity within a collaborative, fast-moving Agile environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and documentation of enterprise data warehouse, data mart, and data store architectures supporting the Customer Portfolio and CIS Modernization initiatives.
- Develop and enforce data architecture standards, data modeling conventions, and data governance practices across teams and platforms.
- Architect data solutions across hybrid AWS/on-premise environments including AWS Aurora, Databricks Lakehouse, Salesforce CRM, legacy billing systems, and internal enterprise platforms.
- Define data integration and data movement patterns, ensuring proper alignment with system-of-record/system-of-truth principles, while minimizing unnecessary data replication.
- Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to design scalable Customer 360 data models, schemas, and domain structures that support operational and analytical needs.
- Provide architectural oversight for data migration, data conversion, data quality, and integration strategies for CIS Transformation.
- Evaluate technology options and recommend the optimal approach for data storage, access, and performance-including real-time and near-real-time access patterns.
- Produce architecture artifacts including diagrams, conceptual/logical/physical data models, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors (e.g., Franklin, GridX) to align data architecture with product and platform capabilities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies within a 2-week sprint cycle and work closely with Scrum teams using Jira and Confluence.
- Provide guidance and engineering handoff to database engineers and integration teams to ensure successful implementation of designed solutions.
- Support team members as a subject matter expert in modern data architectures, cloud data platforms, and data governance best practices.
- Experience with Salesforce or SAP data models and data integration approaches.
- Background supporting utility, energy, or telecommunications data environments.
- Knowledge of Databricks Data Fabric or similar enterprise lakehouse platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Collaborative mindset with low ego, humility, and willingness to learn.
qualifications:
Required Qualifications & Experience
8-10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS native services and cloud-based data architectures.
Expertise with Databricks and modern Data Lakehouse patterns.
Advanced data modeling skills, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem environments and relational databases (e.g., AWS Aurora).
Understanding of data migration, data conversion, and integration patterns.
Experience creating architecture diagrams and documentation using standard architecture tools.
Prior work in Agile/Scrum environments with Jira, Confluence, and sprint-based delivery.
