Senior Engineer - Unified Metadata Store (Mainframe & Distributed, Orchestra AI Integration)
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Engineer to lead the hands-on development and delivery of our Unified Metadata Store, unifying metadata from both mainframe and distributed (non-mainframe) systems. This platform will physically host distributed-side metadata and virtually federate mainframe metadata, providing a single authoritative source for metadata across the enterprise and enabling seamless integration with Orchestra AI.

Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, metadata management, or related fields, with expertise in both mainframe and distributed (non-mainframe) environments.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale metadata repositories, data catalogs, or data virtualization platforms.
- Solid understanding of metadata standards, data governance, and data integration best practices.
- Strong background in cloud-native architectures, data lake/lakehouse platforms, and modern data stack technologies.
- Experience contributing to and understanding architectural strategies for AI/ML integration.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Required Skills:
- Strong programming skills in Java (Spring Boot), Python, or equivalent languages
- Experience with metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Erwin, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with data virtualization platforms (e.g., Denodo or equivalent)
- API development and interface design (RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Cloud platforms (OpenShift or equivalent) and cloud-native data architectures
- Data modeling, metadata standards, and data governance best practices
- Experience integrating with both mainframe and distributed (non-mainframe) systems
- Strong SQL and database skills (relational and NoSQL)
- CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing practices
