responsibilities:
As a leader within our technology organization, your day-to-day will involve:
- Balancing your time between hands-on technical execution and providing strategic guidance to a high-performing team of software engineers.
- Leading the architectural design and continuous evolution of a cutting-edge cloud-native platform utilizing distributed systems.
- Architecting and optimizing event-driven solutions for high-volume processing, ensuring top-tier performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Driving backend development initiatives utilizing modern frameworks, clean code standards, and optimal design patterns.
- Overseeing and enhancing multi-stage deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code deployments, and containerized builds.
- Conducting thorough code reviews, mentoring your team on best practices, solid design principles, and advanced cloud engineering techniques.
- Collaborating closely with senior leadership to influence enterprise-wide architecture and fast-track technical decision-making.
qualifications:
6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building cloud-native applications, specifically within the Azure ecosystem.
3+ years of expertise with container orchestration platforms (Azure Container Apps, AKS, or Kubernetes).
2+ years of formal people leadership, successfully managing and mentoring software engineering teams.
Strong development background in C# and modern .NET (Core, 6+, 8+) including Web APIs, async programming, and Entity Framework Core.
Proven track record of delivering production-grade microservices and distributed systems.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline ownership and infrastructure as code.
Active U.S. work authorization (no current or future sponsorship available).
Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Chicago or remotely from select approved locations (Boston, New York, Washington DC, Miami, Dallas, or Houston) with quarterly travel to Chicago.
