We are looking for someone with the ability to dissect and model existing software architecture with the intention of tracing architectural components to safety functions. Remote work is a possibility for this position.   location: CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa job type: Contract salary: $50 - 55 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors   responsibilities: We are seeking an embedded software engineer with experience working in a highly regulated field/process compliance experience (aviation, healthcare, etc)in aerospace or defense industry able to perform requirement traceability. You will be expected to: -- capable of developing code at a low level such as at a bit level or device drive OS level within a Linksys, VxWorks Hypervisor, Linux environment -- software updates for an integrated processing cabinet (processing cards, network switches) for the CH-53K helicopter -- understand what hardware and software components satisfy the requirements -- communicate with the development team and be comfortable in a customer-facing role as needed. Proficiency in C programming is a requirement, and is developed under military standards.
