Evaluate and refine credit procedures regularly to reflect market trends and business priorities. Implement consistent standards for credit reviews, terms, and limits. Customer Credit Evaluation: Conduct in-depth assessments of customer creditworthiness through analysis of financial data, payment history, and third-party credit reports. Determine appropriate credit limits and payment terms, escalating decisions as needed. Make informed approval or recommendation decisions within established guidelines. Receivables Oversight: Manage the aging of accounts receivable to ensure timely collections. Proactively engage with customers to resolve past-due balances and develop repayment arrangements when necessary. Monitor trends in collections to identify issues early and prevent bad debt. Reporting & Analytics: Generate regular reports that track key credit metrics such as DSO, aging summaries, write-offs, and cash forecasts. Identify and address high-risk accounts and make recommendations to leadership on mitigation strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to align credit decisions with customer strategies and business objectives. Clearly communicate credit-related decisions and policy changes to both internal teams and external partners. Compliance & Recordkeeping: Ensure all credit and collection activities meet relevant legal, financial, and audit standards. Maintain organized documentation of credit reviews, customer interactions, and payment activity. qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit or collections, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or B2B environment. Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, financial statement analysis, and AR processes. Proficiency in credit management tools and financial systems (experience with major ERPs like NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle is a plus). Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
