Position Summary The Senior Accountant ensures the absolute integrity of financial records by managing the full accounting cycle. This role oversees accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and daily entries, performing rigorous reconciliations to maintain an accurate general ledger and provide actionable financial insights to the CFO. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Financial Oversight: Maintain the general ledger and trial balance; record all debits, credits, and daily transactions with precision. Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations to verify transaction accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and issue monthly/quarterly financial statements. Calculate budget variances and provide analysis on significant trends or issues to management. Compliance & Tax: Process monthly and quarterly sales tax for all entities. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal reporting requirements and internal policies. Audit & Cash Management: Lead the assembly of documentation for external auditors. Oversee the petty cash fund and ensure prompt collection of receivables. Systems & Filing: Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and assist in the selection or implementation of accounting software/systems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Accounting or Finance. Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in accounting required. Industry Knowledge: Experience with Construction Accounting and WIP schedules is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software. Deep knowledge of GAAP, tax areas, and financial planning.
