job summary: Global Manufacturer of machined parts is seeking to add a CALIBRATION METROLOGY TECHNICIAN to their team in the Charleston, SC area. This Direct Hire role as a CALIBRATION METROLOGY TECHNICIAN will support the company and Quality Department goals by ensuring the highest posssible quality standards are met. The CALIBRATION METROLOGY TECHNICIAN will perfom visual and dimensional checks on incoming components as well as during assembly and preshipment to clients. Document all findings and results according to company procedures. ISO 9001 expertise is highly regarded and MS Office working knowledge required. Perform & document results of dimensional/visual checks per receiving inspection manual.Perform & document the results of assembly & testing pre-check / in-process for assemblies.Perform & document results of Final shipment of goods confirmation & verification per procedure.As applicable, identify and segregate non-conforming materials per our procedures and instructions.Support shop personnel with any questions regarding product conformity and proper safe working practices.Support the flow of product on the production floor.Manage the Calibration program. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred.capable of reading and understanding mechanical drawings, use of measuring tools i.e., calipers, micrometers.Metrology (calibration) external training or certificate.Experience in a regulated manufacturing industry i.e., ISO9001 Quality Management System.Meticulous, organized with good documentation and communication skills (both written and oral).Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel. LN and Maintain X knowledge a plus.Safety requirements, requires employee to wear steel-toe shoe/boot, standing, bending, stooping, lifting(up to 50lbs.), lifting above your shoulders (up to 25lbs.), safety glasses.
