This role balances on-the-floor leadership with high-level technical execution, requiring a "lead-by-example" approach to meet production schedules while maintaining a culture of safety and accountability. Core Responsibilities Team Leadership: Supervise daily operations, coordinate workflows, and mentor staff to enhance technical skills and productivity. Precision Fabrication: Perform and oversee expert-level welding (GMAW dual shield and hard wire), complex layout work, and blueprint interpretation. Quality & Safety: Act as the primary gatekeeper for quality control, ensuring all components meet dimensional specs and industry standards. Operational Safety: Rigorously enforce OSHA compliance, conduct safety briefings, and oversee secure material handling and rigging. Required Qualifications Expertise: Extensive experience in structural steel fabrication or as a shop foreman. Certifications: Active MIG welding certifications (Hardwire and Flux-Core). Technical Skills: Mastery of structural steel shop drawings, advanced layout techniques, and precision measuring. Leadership: strong communication skills with a proven ability to direct rigging operations and manage small teams safely.
