job summary: A Senior Cost Estimator is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering. Remote worl but needs to be local to Houston, TX or Port Arthur, TX areas. This job leads complex industrial project estimates, manages risk, ensures compliance, and communicates effectively with stakeholders. location: Houston, Texas job type: Contract salary: $50 - 65 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead construction estimates and proposals for various industrial capital projects.Assist clients in making fact-based decisions by presenting accurate estimates professionally.Develop and prepare detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and construction logic.Prepare and summarize tasked estimates, including labor, material, and equipment rates.Utilize estimating software and tools for quantity takeoffs, calculations, and bid item development.Obtain quotations from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.Accumulate and document historical cost data for future estimates.Review and approve project summary schedules.Provide inputs to risk review process for larger projects; lead risk review for smaller projects.Ensure compliance with estimating methodology and prepare cost estimating procedures.Lead project team reviews for estimating quantities and scope.Review and approve quotes on bonds, insurance, and equipment pricing.Present estimates to internal and external clients.Review final estimate before management review and proposal presentation.Review and approve price general conditions and indirect costs.Provide man-hour quotes for estimating effort.Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
