In this role, you will set up and operate CNC press brakes, form custom sheet metal parts according to engineering blueprints, and assist with general metal fabrication. Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols to determine bend sequences and dimensions. Fabrication & Shop Operations: Perform layout, shearing, deburring, grinding, and basic fit-up as needed. Quality Inspection: Measure parts against specs using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and protractors to maintain tight tolerances. Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily machine maintenance, keep a clean workspace, and adhere to all shop safety standards. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 2+ years of experience operating press brakes in a sheet metal or structural fabrication environment. Technical Skills: Ability to read shop blueprints, calculate bend deductions/allowances, and select proper tooling. Tools & Measurement: Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, protractors, height gauges). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk throughout the shift. Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school certificate preferred.
