We are seeking a contract (possibly contract to hire) Payroll Coordinator/ HR Assistant to support an educational institution in the Baltimore area. This position is responsible for day to day operations of payroll processing and provide general HR assistance to the organization. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of Human Resources experience and will be comfortable learning and utilizing HR based systems. This is a contract role that will go through mid-Spring and may lead to a permanent opportunity on the team. salary: $22 - $23 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4 PMeducation: BachelorsResponsibilities Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll, resolve payroll-related issues and monitor payroll reports and tax filings. Process verification of employment requests. Create and prepare periodic reports from HR/payroll system. Assist with the full-cycle recruiting including postings, background checks and new hire paperwork. Provide assistance with exit interview process and associated paperwork. Assist with annual open enrollment. Report workers compensation claims and prepare OSHA log. Coordinate and complete surveys. Perform general clerical duties to include: data entry, filing, mass mailings and other clerical related duties Process Unemployment claims Assist with wellness initiative.
