The Accounts Payable Specialist is a vital member of our finance team, responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of the organization’s financial obligations. This role goes beyond simple data entry; you will act as a steward of our clients mission by ensuring that funds are distributed accurately, transparently, and in full compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and grant requirements. By managing vendor relationships, streamlining payment workflows, and maintaining meticulous digital records, you provide the fiscal stability necessary for our programs to thrive.salary: $22 - $26 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilities Invoice Management: Review, code, and process high-volume vendor invoices with a high degree of accuracy. Grant Allocation: Ensure expenses are coded correctly to specific grants, programs, and restricted funds. Payment Processing: Prepare weekly check runs, ACH transfers, and wire payments. Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with local Baltimore vendors and resolve billing discrepancies promptly. Audit Support: Assist in gathering documentation for annual audits and 1099 processing at year-end. Expense Reports: Review staff credit card statements and reimbursement requests for policy compliance. Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general bookkeeping (Nonprofit experience is a major plus). Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge, QuickBooks, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel. Attention to Detail: Ability to spot a coding error from a mile away. Mission-Driven: A genuine interest in supporting the Baltimore community. Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred, but equivalent experience is valued.
