job summary: Our client is a leading automotive manufacturer and they are seeking a CAD Engineer. The primary responsibility is to lead and support the development and integration of reality capture, Augmented/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), and plant/vehicle 3D technologies for the Production Engineering & Manufacturing team during the new model development phase. Candidates must have 1-2 years of relevant experience or a BS in Design Engineering Technology (or related field) or 2-3 years of equivalent technical/professional experience. Essential skills include proficiency with Autodesk Products (AutoCAD, Dynamic blocks), Dassault Systems Products (Catia), 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit), and Autodesk Vault. Experience with Laser scanning hardware/software and 3D printing 1 year Contract! Role requires the ability to work up to 25% overtime and travel up to 25% (with potential for 30-40%) domestically location: Georgetown, Kentucky job type: Contract salary: $35 - 43 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Reality Capture & Digitalization: Lead the development and integration of reality capture, AR/VR, and plant/vehicle 3D technologies for the Production Engineering & Manufacturing team during new model development.Project Support: Help the Battery Pack Production Engineering department reduce project lead time and rework by utilizing reality capture, AR/VR, and 3D technology.Digital Twin & 3D Assets: Maintain and support shop Digital twins (scanning, converting data, creating Navisworks files, and managing access). Maintain and support the equipment 3D library (updating OEM models, scanning existing equipment, and updating post-modification).AR/VR Integration: Support the integration of AR/VR into engineer workflows, including configuring and loading 3D files to headsets and supporting working group field trials.System Facilitation & Maintenance: Facilitate the "CAD Support Requests" systems. Facilitate the integration/issue escalation and lead local troubleshooting of DIME supported systems.Data & Technology Support: Support the team's adoption and integration of cross-shop Data/Technology workflows.
