Load raw materials (e.g., metal, plastic, alloys) into the machines. Operate CNC machines to perform various machining operations such as drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, milling, and boring. Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functionality and identify any malfunctions, making adjustments as needed. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand part dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Translate design specifications into computer commands (G-code and M-code) to program the CNC machines, or utilize CAD/CAM software to generate programs. Perform test runs and verify settings by measuring initial parts and samples to ensure they meet specifications. Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
