job summary: A Mechanical Project Engineer is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Peachtree City, GA area. This role involves managing the development and implementation of equipment and installations within capital projects for manufacturing plants, requiring expertise in mechanical engineering, project management, procurement, commissioning, and effective communication and collaboration with various teams. location: Peachtree City, Georgia job type: Contract salary: $45 - 57 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Assist in evaluating and developing assigned capital packages.Develop initial designs and layouts, expanding them into detailed plans and drawings.Support senior project engineers on assigned projects to ensure safe, timely, and budget-conscious installations.Support the Technical Office in developing designs and processes for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations to support design.Support continuous improvement efforts for process plant design.Assist in startup and commissioning of equipment and mechanical systems onsite.Ensure efficient transfer of projects to Operations team, including all necessary documentation and training.Maintain and communicate project status to meet company goals.Participate in project design phase, providing input to the process.Follow Project Execution Manual Checklists (Stage gate process) and apply standard tools at each step of the project.Maintain communication and collaboration with various teams throughout project lifecycle. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing.Practical experience and knowledge of piping system design in continuous process manufacturing.Ability to read engineering drawings.Understanding/experience in specifying, purchasing, and installing various equipment and systems. Core Skills: Mechanical Engineering expertise with basic electrical knowledge.Advanced problem-solving skills.Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.
