This role is the "engine room" of our diagnostic process; you will be responsible for the accurate intake, processing, and routing of medical specimens. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to gain hands-on clinical laboratory experience in a role where every second counts for patient outcomes. location: Lewisville, Texas job type: Contract salary: $20 - 23 per hour work hours: 11 to 7 education: High School responsibilities: High-Volume Processing: Perform essential laboratory support functions, including pre-sorting, centrifugation, aliquoting, and the pickup/delivery of processed specimens to various lab departments. Precision Data Entry: Maintain a high standard of data integrity, utilizing your background to enter specimen information at a rate of at least 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour. Compliance & Regulation: Rapidly learn and apply changing compliance regulations related to test ordering and specimen types to ensure total accuracy for client satisfaction. Laboratory Operations: Manage imaging/microfilming of records and maintain a clean, organized workstation ("A-station") to meet strict departmental completion times. Safety First: Strictly adhere to all biohazard safety protocols, core values, and compliance policies while working with clinical specimens. Operational Flexibility: Adapt to daily procedural changes and customer demands, maintaining a positive and professional attitude in a high-pressure environment. qualifications: Required: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical Skill: Strong computer literacy and a proven ability to perform rapid, accurate alphanumeric data entry. Preferred: Laboratory Experience: Prior experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting is a significant plus. Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of laboratory testing, specimen processing, and medical terminology. Work Background: Experience in a high-volume production or manufacturing environment. Availability: Primary availability for the night shift, with the flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and work comfortably within a biohazard environment.
