Core Responsibilities General Ledger Ownership: Maintain and reconcile the GL; prepare and post monthly journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and allocations with 100% accuracy. Month-End Close Execution: Support the Controller in executing the month-end and year-end closing cycles; ensure financial statements meet GAAP standards and internal deadlines. Complex Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations for multiple business entities; investigate and resolve variances and outstanding items promptly. Intercompany Accounting: Manage intercompany balance reconciliations across various properties or projects; ensure accurate elimination entries for consolidated reporting. Fixed Asset Tracking: Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules, recording additions and disposals in accordance with corporate capitalization policies. Financial Reporting: Utilize advanced Excel and ERP tools (Sage/Yardi) to prepare budget vs. actual variance reports and customized schedules for management. Audit Readiness: Prepare supporting workpapers for external auditors and maintain meticulous digital records for internal control reviews. Job Costing Integration: Partner with AP/AR teams to ensure project-level costs are accurately reflected in the GL for precise profitability reporting. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Experience: 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience. Prior exposure to the Construction or Real Estate industries is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems such as Sage (300/Intacct), Yardi, or NetSuite.
