Quality Assurance Manager – Aerospace (Cabin Interiors) We are seeking a results-driven Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality management, process optimization, and regulatory compliance for our aircraft cabin interior assembly operations. This role is responsible for managing a staff of quality engineers and inspectors while serving as the primary liaison between Engineering, Supply Chain, and our customers.Core Responsibilities QMS Leadership: Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) complies with AS9100, FAA Part 21, and Part 145 standards. Lead all internal, customer, and third-party audit preparations. Process Control: Implement and monitor APQP and PFMEA to develop "error-proof" manufacturing processes. Identify critical points in production and establish statistical sampling plans (AQL). Operational Excellence: Monitor Cost of Quality KPIs to drive cost savings. Oversee the company’s corrective/preventive action (CAPA) and nonconformance systems. Technical Oversight: Analyze quality test results to provide feedback to production. Maintain the authority to stop production if serious defects are detected. Team Development: Manage, mentor, and train quality personnel. Develop departmental strategy and objectives aligned with corporate goals. Collaboration: Interface with Supply Chain on supplier quality issues and work closely with Engineering to develop product specifications and mitigate contractual risks. Qualifications & Experience Education: Master’s degree (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering) + 2 years of experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of progressive related experience. Industry Expertise: At least 3 years of direct experience in aircraft cabin interior assembly. Technical Skills: * Proficiency in APQP, PFMEA, and Statistical Product Acceptance (AS9138). Experience with Boeing quality procedures (D6-82479 and BAC5055). Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (SysPro and UniPoint preferred). Familiarity with metrology equipment, specifically FaroArm and Verisurf software. Communication: strong technical writing skills for creating FAA-compliant procedures and QMS documentation. Additional Requirements Ability to work extended hours and travel up to 10% (Domestic and International).
