We are seeking an energetic and safety-conscious Machine Operator Helper to join our custom packaging manufacturing team. In this role, you will work side-by-side with experienced Lead Machine Operators running specialized corrugated equipment (flexographic printing presses, die-cutters, and folder-gluers). You will be responsible for feeding sheets, inspecting printed and cut corrugated boxes for quality, bundling finished goods, and assisting with machine setups to keep production running efficiently and safely.salary: $18 - $19 per hourshift: Secondwork hours: 2:30 PM - 10 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Machine Assistance & Feed Management Material Staging & Feeding: Load raw corrugated sheets (single wall, double wall, micro-flute) into machine hoppers and feeders according to job specifications. Off-Bearing & Catching: Take off printed, slotted, or die-cut boxes at the discharge end of the machine; perform quick quality spot-checks for ink coverage, clean cuts, and proper scoring. Fast Changeover Support: Assist the Lead Operator during machine setups—adjusting side guides, setting print plates, prepping ink units, and changing out cutting dies to minimize downtime between custom jobs. Packaging & Stacking Bundling & Palletizing: Bundle, strap, and palletize finished corrugated boxes according to customer specifications and stacking patterns. Labeling: Apply accurate pallet tags, job tickets, and stretch-wrap to finished loads before staging them for shipping. Scrap & Waste Management: Clear paperboard scrap, trim, and matrix waste from around the machine to prevent jams and maintain a clean workspace. Quality Control & Safety In-Process Visual Inspection: Monitor output for common packaging defects, such as ink smears, improper folding, delamination, or misaligned die-cuts. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols around pinch points and rotating equipment, and consistently wear required PPE (steel-toe boots, eye/ear protection, cut-resistant gloves).
