Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, high-energy Invoicing Specialist to support our finance team on a short-term, 1-month contract basis. This is a critical role for us as we navigate a high-volume period. The successful candidate will hit the ground running to assist with monthly invoicing requirements, reconcile data, and ensure our billing processes remain accurate and timely. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, Math, or a related field. Experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or data analysis. Software: * Advanced Excel skills are essential (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.). Transportation Management Systems (TMS) experience is required (e.g., SAP, Shipwell, MercuryGate or similar platforms). Skills: interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Team-Oriented: Ability to work independently while being a collaborative member of the finance team. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This is a hybrid role based out of our Des Plaines, IL office. Regular, on-site presence (4 days per week) is required for the duration of the assignment. The role is sedentary, requiring the ability to sit at a desk and operate computer equipment for prolonged periods. The work environment is a quiet to moderate, climate-controlled professional office. Assignment Details This is a temporary, 1-month+ assignment. Hours may vary based on business needs, including potential overtime to support monthly deadlines. Collaboration: Partner with Logistics Center personnel and internal teams to validate data accuracy and solicit accessorial inputs. Invoicing: Issue, record, and distribute weekly and monthly invoices, ensuring all billing templates are maintained correctly. Analysis: Track and analyze historical invoicing trends, analyze variance to estimates, and assist with budget-to-actual reporting. Communication: Maintain working relationships with internal operations teams and external customers to resolve billing questions or discrepancies. Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of invoicing processes to ensure a seamless transition for the team.
