Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to lead our tax department and oversee all tax-related functions. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while developing and implementing strategic tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities. You will lead a small team of tax professionals and act as a key advisor to senior leadership regarding financial decision-making and tax risk management. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and filing of all corporate income, sales, and payroll tax returns. Manage the tax provision process (ASC 740) and ensure all tax-related financial reporting meets GAAP standards. Coordinate and serve as the primary point of contact for external tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Maintain tax records and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Tax Strategy & Planning Develop and implement tax-saving strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. Analyze the impact of new tax legislation and regulatory changes on the business; advise leadership on necessary adjustments. Provide guidance on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and intercompany agreements, to ensure tax efficiency. Leadership & Collaboration Mentor and lead the tax staff, providing guidance, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate closely with the accounting and finance departments to ensure seamless data flow and accurate financial reporting. Partner with external consultants and legal counsel as needed to resolve complex tax matters. Qualifications RequirementDetailsEducation Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s in Taxation (MST) or MBA is preferred. Certification Active CPA license is required. Experience 5–7+ years of progressive tax experience, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
