Your core responsibilities include: Ensure all documentation (forms, medical records, and letters) is accurate and submitted via the correct portals, addresses, or fax numbers to meet strict payer deadlines. Act as a writer for non-clinical appeals involving low-dollar, outpatient, or pre-authorization denials. You will review patient records, verify authorization status, and draft compelling arguments to overturn denials. Handle the full lifecycle of reconsiderations, redeterminations, State Complaint letters, and legal submissions for Administrative Law Judges. Review account notations to determine the best path for resubmission, compile medical records from various episodes of care, and request notarized affidavits from Health Information Management when necessary. Compile essential documentation for accounts escalated to the Managed Care Legal team following Insurance Ops reviews. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, distribute mail to appropriate teams, and maintain meticulous notes within the accounts receivable system.
